Winter yarn

Well, thats not yarn for winter. Thats yarn made of Winter's fur. I sent J ~5oz of Winter and Kooler's fur the other day. Lookie .. "Winter yarn"!

Black denim yarn ... take 2

It wasnt too long ago I ranted about not finding black denim yarn. Well... my very own black denim yarn is now in my very own stash! Yes!! I found it on ebay... and I paid just slightly over retail. Whoo!

I STAND CORRECTED! J is brillant .. again! 6 x 23 -> 138! I paid less than retail!

Count down..

It is wednesday. Do you know where your yarn, needles, patterns, and cable needles are? Have you decided to work on sleeve first? body first? ...

oh.

P.S. This is not a speed knitting contest.. Your NORMAL knitting habits applies here.

P.P.S. All those presents you want to knit .. you should work on those too. Those have a deadline.

Chunky scarf - report #0

DSCN1165.jpg

Bouton d'Or Cordelia 2x2 rib scarf in Bruyere (Purples and Olives) . I picked up this random yarn at Skein's sale. That's one ball, and I think I will use all three I have for a long chunky scarf with long fringes.

DB cashmerino aran sampling ...

DSCN1168.jpg

Four shades of DB cashmerino aran for swatching.

  • Dusty Pink 603
  • Navy 004
  • Red 610
  • Olive 503
  • Cream 101

Three (or four?) are for a patchwork. The dusty pink is for G's mom. I am going to try out a lace scarf with aran. If that doesnt work, perhaps baby cashmerino in similar shade.

Feather and Fan sock - FO

DSCN1164.jpg

Feather and Fan socks in Lorna's Lace Sheperd Sock Mineshaft. Mom tried the finished sock when I was home last. They fit and she likes them!

Modeknit silk ribbed corset

J is brillant ...

I have been eyeing the Silk Ribbed Corset from Modeknit. I was uncertain about the negative ease.. but .. she is right. It is gorgeous and it will be fine on curves.

AND ... on top of that...
CEY Bamboo in my stash will work! whooo!

Mohair lace stole - report #5 blocking

DSCN1137.jpg

Mohair blocking on the guest twin bed. This is the first time I block lace. The fiber content is mohair, wool, and nylon. I spritz it with good smelly linen water. Oh yeah. I need more pins. Thats only about 1/3 of the stole.

Dry cleaner plastic bag, red checked fabric and a lot of pins ... Here is the mohair before blocking ... and another shot.

And here is the tiny bit of yarn left.
