GD invited DH and I over for dinner and a date with her top loader washing machine. Her DH cooked while we experimented.

Pre-fulling measurements:

Mine was about 13.5 x 8.5

GD was about 13.5 x 13.5

Into the washer they go! And in full motion video on YouTube.

After 5 minutes ...

Mine was 12.5 x 7

GD was 12 x 11

back into the washer they went! 3.5 minutes later (I was impatient)

I stopped at 11x 6.75

GD's 11x 11 (not sure if GD will keep it that size!)

Phew. thats all for the photos.

Here is progress on the Jo Sharp Aran Tweed vest on US 7 needles.This is almost two balls. I am freeforming this vest. It is 204 stitches on 5 st/inch gauge.

and a sort of funny story about this vest...

Late last year, I decided to knit a sweater for Mom. When she visited, she pick out a complicated sweater. Er. No can't do that ... GD helped me pick out Jo Sharp Aran Tweed in Bark on a trip to Weaving Works. I made a swatch and send it off to Mom around her bday in October.

I got back ... "Dad wants a vest". She requested a tighter weave and also sent me paper pattern for his measurement.

J gifted the yarn to me on a trip to DC in March! I started the second one in April.

So nearly half a year later. I finished them. Thanks J!
