Aran tweed vest

DSCN0602.jpg

Here is progress on the Jo Sharp Aran Tweed vest on US 7 needles. This is almost two balls. I am freeforming this vest. It is 204 stitches on 5 st/inch gauge.

and a sort of funny story about this vest...

Late last year, I decided to knit a sweater for Mom. When she visited, she pick out a complicated sweater. Er. No can't do that ... GD helped me pick out Jo Sharp Aran Tweed in Bark on a trip to Weaving Works. I made a swatch and send it off to Mom around her bday in October.

I got back ... "Dad wants a vest". She requested a tighter weave and also sent me paper pattern for his measurement.

.. epic adventure :)
