Color yarn
I am quite conflicted about color. I love colors ... I have tried and tried to wear color clothing and accessories. But .. I have had no success building a real relationship with colors.
When I started stashing yarn ... (that's right, I said stashing, since I wasn't really knitting ... yet) I converted Manos Bing Cherry. It is kettle dyed dark burgundy .. simply beautiful! Like other artisan yarn, every skein is different. I selected the deepest darkest Bing Cherry. I purchased a few skeins here and there. And.. they sat in the stash. I finally came to the conclusion that I should set the Bing Cherry skeins free. So I begin to proposition J about trading something for the Bing Cherry.
I remember the day J shown me Malabrigo Handpainted Pearl Ten 6-ply Bulky, and how she described it after she swatched ...
Suffice it to say that I love the yarn now. What gorgeous variegation! It’s mostly grey and purple with a slight twinge of brown underneath.Then I saw it in person when we visited her .. After she finished Licroice Whip, she offered me the extras. FOUR full skeins of 100g ea and 2 partials..
enough for a sweater. I feel like I will be more successful building a relationship with this color ;-) My current thought is that it will be a simple rib zippered cardigan. The Bing Cherries are in a box ready to send to J to be enjoyed.
