The house project is taking longer than expected. The weather has been colder than usual. I had to buy additional crafty stuff since we didn't expect to be in rental house for this extended period. I am counting down the days for the next few weeks ... all this plus work makes a stressy brain.

To pass the time and not get too anxious, I have been working on a good mindless Cheesylove. Plain, black, rib is just not interesting to post. I also swatched Venezia with Shetland natural black and natural white. Oh, I did manage to finish and gift a baby knit for this cute boy. Counting down the days .. at least the days are getting longer :)

With the exception of the felted purse, which I have to sew lining and put together. I have no WiP projects. So I spent the weekend looking for the something that will

- keep me interested (fun pattern, something I / someone else will wear)
- wont make my head hurt
- not six million St st (no mom's plain cardi)
- not involve new yarn (I don't need more yarn)
- account for the fact I probably will finish it in spring

GD and I stopped in Weaving Works last weekend(?) since .. ahem... we need more yarn. She helped me pick out a rich brown tweed for my mom's cardi. Wooo! I have pattern, yarn, and measurements. Maybe ... hopefully...

Now I just need to do some math (finish some projects).

Mom (and some family) were visiting over last weekend. I left her with the fuzzies (and Jacket book and some patterns) while my uncle and I went to the airport to return their rental car. Later during dinner, I asked Mom if she found something she likes ... "oh yes, it is pink and grey..."

Long time ago, I was talking to DH over IM.... "ackets" came across the screen and I was scratching my head. It must be some secret something or rather that I dont understand.

Oh. So back to my original content: During my last visit home, mom asked for a wool cardi. I have been on the lookout for something classic for her - classic colors in navy or brown, classic shaped jacket...

I saw Chardon in Knit Pick's catalog and bought a copy of Jean Frost's Jackets from Amazon.

J is brillant ...

I have been eyeing the Silk Ribbed Corset from Modeknit. I was uncertain about the negative ease.. but .. she is right. It is gorgeous and it will be fine on curves.
